For example, some betting chips have built-in microcircuitry that lets the casino oversee the exact amounts wagered minute by minute and spot any anomaly; roulette wheels are monitored electronically to discover any statistical deviation from a random distribution of numbers.

Casinos often have brightly colored floors and walls, which are designed to stimulate the players. They may also have fountains, towers or replicas of famous landmarks. In addition, the music played in a casino can be loud and exciting to encourage gamblers to stay longer and spend more money.
